Administration in NOIDA gets buyers and Amrapali group to discuss

Noida: The Gautam Budh Nagar district administration has got the Amrapali group to submit a detailed plan of execution of all its 11 real estate projects which are in different stages of completion. The district magistrate, N P Singh, told media that the administration shared the realty group’s plan with homebuyers’ representatives and listened to their responses on Wednesday.

The administration’s intervention follows the report in TOI on the homebuyers of 11 Amrapali group projects joining hands to stage a massive rally in the city on October 22. The administration office has now demanded that the buyers bring all their demands to the table, so that agreement could be reached with the builders on delivery. DM Singh said the administration felt the need to intervene in the issue to protect citizens’ rights and to maintain law and order. “The buyers might need to create an escrow account with the builder so that the builder could complete the projects and hand them over. The objective is to dissolve the buyer-builder deadlock,” Singh said.

Puneet Parashar, who is spearheading the Amrapali buyers’ protest, said the buyers were called by the city magistrate, Ramanujam Singh, and DM Singh on Wednesday. “We were told that since Section 144 was applicable in the city a mass rally might not be permissible. However, they heard us out and announced a forum comprising officers of Noida and Greater Noida Authorities, builders, buyers and the district administration to deal with buyers’ issues,” Parashar said.
Shiv Priya, Executive Director of Amrapali, said, “We have submitted all documents and details as demanded by the district administration. All our plan and project details have been shared. We want to state to the buyers that we too want to complete the projects and hand them over. We propose the creation of escrow accounts so that the buyers can deposit their pending dues and we can complete their projects with that,” Priya said.
