Properties worth around Rs 150 crore have been booked online since October last year. Chief executive officer of BDA, Neeraj Vashishtha, said, “People trust the BDA. We open our properties‘ sale from 1st of every month and it lasts till 20th. The results are encouraging, as online booking for properties worth Rs 150 crore has been done so far.” During Diwali last year when the real estate sector was passing through a bad phase, the BDA did a business of around Rs 100 crore, selling plots, duplexes, affordable houses and shops across the city.
Registration of 136 residential units was done. Besides, more than 200 plots, 100 units of affordable houses and duplexes at Saket Nagar, near AIIMS were also booked, said Vashishtha. Last month the BDA got bookings for its 30 properties worth more than Rs 3 crore. Buoyed over the positive response, the BDA has extended its sale till Monday this month, as the weekend has coincided with its closing date. He said he expects bookings of as many as 25 properties by Monday.
Properties of the government agency are spread across the city and include plots at Misrod (phase II), Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Awas Yojana and Aero City. Besides, flats at Katara Hills are also available, said a BDA spokesperson. Before the festive season in October last year, more than 12000 inventories of private builders were available in Bhopal, some of them half-done, but not sold.
These included 3500 ready to move houses.
