CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday said a new software would soon be launched to let people prepare registration documents themselves and send it to the sub-registrar’s office concerned online.
Chief minister J Jayalalithaa said the entire procedure related to registration of documents would be computerised and a software developed for it was being tested in 20 offices of the registration department. “Soon, the software would be in place in all the offices across the state,” she said.
Measures like authentication of documents by using fingerprints of parties, obtaining their Aadhar and mobile phone numbers and sending SMSes to them will prevent impersonation and registration of fake documents, she said.
“Certified copies of registered documents will be provided online on payment of a fee,” she said. Also, through the new software, information related to property rights, maintained by the revenue department, could be checked online.
