After Shastri Park metro station and the Airport Express Line, the Delhi Metro has decided to put Dwarka Sector 8 station up for property development. The project, aimed to generate revenue for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), will have office spaces, and retail outlets where people can shop or eat.
“The space that will be leased out is at ground level and measures approximately 1100 square metres. While about 750 square metres will be for the purpose of property development, the rest will be for parking vehicles,” said a DMRC official.
Situated on the Blue Line (Noida/Vaishali– Dwarka Sector 21 corridor), the station is an elevated one and lies in proximity to IGI Airport. The station is accessible by road to all areas in Delhi and Gurgaon, which is why the Corporation chose it.
“The project site has an excellent opportunity to become an important commercial hub. Access to commercial areas and parking space will be made separate,” the official added.
The lease will be given to the bidder for a period of 15 years.
Earlier, the DMRC had decided to develop spaces it owns near Jantar Mantar, and at Mayur Vihar Phase-1, Vaishali, Mansarovar Park and Jhilmil stations. At the site near Jantar Mantar, it plans to construct a four-floor commercial complex and rent it out.
