NOIDA: If you have shopping plans this weekend, you can head to a whole new destination.
Real estate major DLF on Friday launched its Mall of India in Sector 18 that it has billed as ‘India’s largest destination mall‘. The 2 million square feet retail space is spread over six levels with 18 big stores. Big Bazaar Gen Next and Max opened their stores on Friday.
The major anchor stores include Home Centre, Forever 21, Zara, M&S, GAP, Lifestyle, Pantaloons, UCB, Splash, I Am In, Iconic Kids, Hamleys, Cinemas, Smaaash, Fun City, Ski India. The mall has about 100 fashion brands and 73 food and beverage brands, including 51 cafes, and 22 F&B kiosks. It also has 350 brands, 80 kiosk brands and 7 DT screens.
“We are expecting a footfall of about 3 million people per month. We have a capacity for 1,700 cars at the parking and hope that alternative parking facilities in the vicinity would share some of the load as well,” Pushpa Bector, vice-president, DLF Mall of India, said. The mall is expected to open in phases with first the anchor brands starting shop and the cinemas. Among the seven movie halls at the mall, one is completely dedicated to kids’ films. Bector said the mall will become fully functional by January end.
