GURGAON: In yet another roadblock to the Dwarka expressway project, landowners are now objecting to the land-pooling scheme for rehabilitation of project oustees. They had earlier agreed to give up their land under the scheme but are now reneging on their word.
About 528 houses in New Palam Vihar, Tekchand Nagar and Kherki Daula are coming in the way of the Dwarka expressway. All these oustees were supposed to be rehabilitated on alternative plots in sectors 110A and 37C. Huda was scheduled to hold a draw of lots to allot alternative plots to 478 oustees in Sector 110A, while the remaining will be accommodated in Sector 37C.
On Monday landowners, whose presence is mandatory for completion of draw of lots, submitted their objections to Huda administrator Hardeep Singh and expressed their inability to be present at the draw. “There is no clarity on the draw for allotment of plots under the land-pooling scheme. We have sought certain clarifications pending which we will not participate in draw of lot,” said landowner Azad Singh Rana, who has a 17-acre piece of land in Sector 110A.
He said that till now Huda has not given them a layout plan of the sector and details of the number of plots to be developed in the sector. “Huda has also not clarified as to when allottees will be given possession of the plot or what facilities will be developed in the sector,” he said. Besides, there are many other issues related to the entire process which are not clear,” Rana said.
“With the latest development, we fear we will have to start the entire process all over again, right from revision of layout plan to allotment of plots,” said a senior Huda official. He said it would delay the completion of the project.
