GHAZIABAD: Ghaziabad will be connected with Noida by a direct Metro line with Mohan Nagar as the terminus. The board of Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) on Tuesday approved the proposal to extend the Delhi Metro blue line, which at present terminates at Vaishali, till Mohan Nagar.
The board also approved the extension of the Noida City Centre-Sector 62 Metro corridor, which is under construction, to the proposed Vaishali-Mohan Nagar line via Indirapuram.
The GDA agreed to provide Rs 1.09 crore to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for preparing a detailed project report (DPR) of the construction of the two proposed corridors. Following completion of the project, the station at Mohan Nagar, which falls on the Dilshad Garden-New Bus Stand Metro corridor, which is under construction, will be the major junction of the Metro rail network in Ghaziabad.
“The Metro rail corporation will find out which point along the proposed Vaishali-Mohan Nagar corridor will be best suited to be connected with the extension of the Noida City Center-Sector 62 line. It will decide whether it will be connected at Vasundhara, at Sahibabad or at any other point,“ said GDA vice-chairman Vijay Yadav.
