GHB to provide 52 clearances for 8 corporations and 170 ULBs online

NEW DELHI: Gujarat Housing Board (GHB) will be upgrading ‘e-nagar’ portal in the coming 3-4 months, said Punamchand Parmar, Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development & Urban Housing Department, Gujarat.

The upgraded website will provide 52 clearances for 8 corporation cities and 170 Urban Local Bodies. The clearances will include environmental clearance, fire department clearance, zonal certificate and development permission among others.

Apart from this, the state housing department is also in the process of install GIS mapping system in 8 corporation cities and 24 Group A cities to further ease of doing business and bring in transparency.

“We plan to install the system in the next one year,” said Milind Torawane, Secretary (Housing), Urban Development & Urban Housing Department.

Torawane further informed that they are also trying to bring Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) and apply Transit Oriented Development in Group A cities to boost affordable housing in the state. The TOD will have 4 FSI.

“The state has complete focus on development of affordable housing scheme. We also continue to introduce business-friendly policies for private developers,” said Parmar. The state had recently announced that Non Agricultural permission will not be needed if the land falls under the town planning schemes.
