In a circular sent out by Gaursons, the builder has approved the buyers’ access to the stadium and gym at minimal annual membership charges. Gaursons has also offered a maintenance charge waiver to the buyers. Gaur City buyers, who pay one year’s maintenance charges in advance at one go, will get a waiver of one year’s maintenance charges. Residents at Gaur City have been asking for a reduction in membership charges to gain access to extra facilities in the complex, including the stadium. The buyers were protesting against hefty membership charges to access these facilities.
“Our two major projects, Gaur City I and II, are complete. Of the 10,000 flats there, 8,400 are ready for possession. About 2,000 people are residing within the complex. They approached us for access to our special facilities such as the stadium. We have allowed them access on payment of token amounts, which will grant them membership access to the stadium for morning walks, yoga and other activities for a limited time each day,” Manoj Gaur, MD, Gaursons, told TOI.
Also, at Supertech’s Ecovillage I and II, the builders have agreed to buyers’ demand for a discount in the maintenance charges.
The builders have discounted the charges until all the facilities are provided in the complex.
“The clubhouses in our projects are not yet complete, so we are offering a discount in the charges till all the promised facilities are made available. We have brought it down from Rs 2.50 per sq ft to Rs 2 per sq ft. However, this should be considered temporary,” R K Arora, chairman, Supertech, told TOI.
“We have been negotiating for a standardised maintenance charge from builders for a long time. The buyers are relieved by the recent concessions being made by the major builders of Noida Extension, who have started giving possession. Others should follow their example,” Indrish Gupta, co-founder, Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association, said.
