BENGALURU: The Karnataka High Court has directed the BBMP to permit Puravankara Projects Ltd. to reconstruct the compound wall of Purva Skydale, a residential project located adjacent to Haralur Lake, off Sarjapur Road. The wall was demolished following orders from the then mayor BN Manjunath Reddy during an inspection on August 16. The court, after hearing a related matter, took on record the absence of any deviation from the sanctioned plan as well as the observations of a land survey report, which found no encroachment of water bodies at the project site. The company has been given a go ahead for the project as per the sanctioned plan.
In August, BBMP workers had pulled down blue fibre sheets covering the massive project using a JCB and construction workers were asked to leave the site located in Kudlu village of Anekal taluk, in Bengaluru Urban district.
Ashish Puravankara, managing director, Puravankara Projects Ltd., said that the stand taken by them earlier that the company had “not violated any provisions of the law or the sanctioned plan” stands vindicated. “We reiterate that such arbitrary actions aren’t in the interest of the public and the growth of Brand Bangalore. Receiving this high court order and the recommencement of work at the project only goes on to prove that Grade A Developers such as ourselves follow stringent internal control and compliance measures prior to commencing any real estate project, ” he added.
