HYDERABAD: Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao directed the officials to make arrangements immediately to construct 4,740 double bedroom houses in each Assembly segment in the city as part of the government’s commitment to construct one lakh houses .
“A large number of people submitted applications for the houses . This is an indication that the people reposed faith in the government,” Rao told the officials.
He said that the double bedroom houses would be constructed to all the poor irrespective of their caste or religion. He, however, added that the identification of beneficiaries for the scheme was the responsibility of the revenue officials.
The officials should take the help of local MLAs in identifying suitable lands for double bedroom houses , Rao said. “Politics will not come in the way in finalising the beneficiaries. The selection process will be completed in a transparent manner,” the chief minister said. The houses would be constructed to the slum dwellers, Rao said.
