CHENNAI: KEF Holdings, a multinational diversified group that specialises in offsite construction technology, on Wednesday inaugurated its joinery and fit-out factory at the KEF Infra One Industrial Park in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu.
Built with an investment of Rs 120 crore, the facility is one of the ten factories at the 42-acre park.
The unit builds on automation technology realised through robotic systems that are run by computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software – to eliminate wastage in the production line as well as reduce time and building costs.
The factory features 30 machines developed by the woodworking machinery manufacturers in the world is capable of manufacturing 150 doors and cabinets a day.
Speaking at the launch, Faizal E Kottikollon, chairman, KEF Holdings, said: “We are well-positioned to become one of the leading off site construction facilities in the world and this factory offers a glimpse of what we deliver in terms of quality and capacity. Our aim is to manufacture all-encompassing and sustainable structures at half the cost and time and make it significantly easier to meet the infrastructure needs of sectors such as healthcare and education. ”
