“KPMG will use the space to set up its back- end support service in Kochi and is the anchor tenant in the property,” said a person having direct knowledge of the transaction.
The transaction comes at a time when the commercial real estate space sector is seeing healthy transaction on the back of increasing demand from corporate occupiers. In 2014, KPMG said it would add about 10,000 professionals to its workforce over the next four years across India. KPMG is the fastest-growing professional services firm in India with offices across 12 locations.
KPMG, however, did not comment on the development. Vishal Mirchandani, CEO-Brigade Commercial & Retail, confirmed the transaction but did not share details on the same. At present, KPMG has over 200 partners, more than 10,000 people on its rolls and has set a target of becoming a $1-billion organisation by 2018.
