SECUNDERABAD: The decks are cleared for the construction of double bedroom (2BHK) houses at Rasoolpura in Secunderabad. The state government has proposed to build 300 two-bedroom houses. Officials have completed the survey on the parcel of land to be acquired for the ambitious housing scheme.
The land parcel will be handed over to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for construction of the houses. The housing project at Rasoolpura covers Silver company and Kattamysamma basthi. Another housing project was proposed at Mudfort covering Sriramnagar, Ambedkarnagar and Gandhinagar. These areas fall under the Secunderabad Cantonment assembly constituency.
A total of 2,160 2-BHK houses were allotted in these two areas. The land parcel in Rasoolpura belongs to the state government but the one in Mudfort is held by the Defence. The Defence Estates Office, Telangana, has sought the help of revenue officials for joint inspection in order to avoid land dispute between the state government and the Centre. The joint survey of both the areas was completed recently.
“During the survey two land parcels each measuring three acres were identified. We have earmarked two acres for the housing scheme in Rasoolpura. In Mudfort one acre has been earmarked,“ a senior official in the Hyderabad district collectorate told STOI.
While 300 houses will be built at Rasoolpura, 200 houses will come up at Mudfort. The Defence land in Mudfort has been transferred to the state government. Tirumalagiri tehsildar Sunil Nathani said the land parcel at Mudfort will be handed over to the GHMC by this month-end.
