Namma Metro invites suggestions…

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has invited suggestions from the general public till November 30 on the proposed metro project between Silk Board and K R Puram under Phase II A.

The DPR suggests that the project cost Rs 4,202 crore and have 13 stations.

The stations will come up at Silk Board, H S R Layout, Agara lake, Ibbalur, Bellandur, Kadubeesanahalli, Kodibasanahalli, Marathahalli, ISRO, Doddanekundi, DRDO sports complex, Mahadevpura and K R Puram. The proposed alignment of metro on will be constructed on existing median of the road. To construct the metro elevated structure, the BMRCL will have to axe a total of 1,412 trees; 212 for metro stations and 1,200 on the median.

On financing the project the DPR states, “State Government may contribute a sum of Rs 500 crore over the next three years and BMRCL will mobilize another Rs 500 crore by long term lease of its lands which have commercial potential. In addition, the Innovative Financing is expected to yield about Rs 1,100 crore. The balance Rs 2,100 crore will be borrowed. ”
