NOIDA: On Sunday, RWAs and homebuyer’s associations from across NCR gathered in Delhi to launch a ‘Fight for RERA (Real Estate Regulatory Authority)’ body that will push for the RERA Bill. The Parliamentary select committee report on amendments to the Bill has been pending a hearing since it was presented in Rajya Sabha on July 30.
“The purpose of RERA, delayed since 2013, is to regulate real estate industry vis-a-vis the buyer,” said NCR homebuyers’ association co-founder Rashesh Purohit.
“We’ll write letters to the Prime Minister, housing minister and parties in Rajya Sabha, and carry out a pan-India signature campaign between October 2-11, asking the PM to immediately enact RERA,” said convenor Abhay Upadhyay of Fight for RERA.
“We’ve also planned other social media initiatives, and a follow-up meet in October,” said Purohit.
