PIMPRI CHINCHWAD: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has launched a mobile application for citizens to pay their property taxes and water bills while submitting complaints about civic amenities.
Speaking to media, Neelkanth Poman, chief information and technology officer, said, “IT professionals and working couples do not have time to go to municipal offices to pay their taxes. This prompted the civic body to start the facility for making online payment of property tax. Now, we have launched a new mobile app to make it easier for them to pay taxes as well as submit complains about the civic amenities and get them redressed.”
“We will be adding new services in the mobile app in phases and also try to improve the services available through the it”, Poman said. The civic body had appointed a private developer to create the mobile app – M-PCMC. The app can be downloaded from Play Store and works fine on cellphones with Apple, Android and Windows platforms. The user has to make one-time registration to be able to use the app.
People can register complaints about a variety of issues such as potholes, unauthorized hoardings, lack of cleanliness of public toilets, unauthorized stalls and hawkers, illegal mobile towers, road repair, water problems, drainage blockage, lifting of garbage, stray dog menace, noise pollution through the app. One can also see the status of their complaints through the app. There is also a bill payment option which when clicked directs the user to property tax or water bill payment. One can pay these taxes using netbanking option. The app also allows the user to get information about the tenders published by the civic body among others.
