HYDERABAD: Union minister for railways Suresh Prabhu on Tuesday gave assurance to excise minister T Padma Rao that the SCR will hand over 12 acres of its land at Lalapet to Telangana government for its two-bedroom housing scheme.
Padma Rao met Prabhu in New Delhi seeking allotment of railway land to the state government for taking up its ambitious double-bed room housing scheme for the poor. The state government has been searching for land in Secunderabad constituency for more than a year for the housing scheme.
Earlier, CM K Chandrasekhar Rao appealed to Prabhu to give railway land to the state government. Padma Rao followed it up with the railway minister, who agreed in principle to the state government’s request.
