HYDERABAD: Tata Group has agreed to partner with Telangana government in implementing the state’s flagship scheme of building free two bed room houses for poor.
A day after taking over the new municipal administration and urban development (MA&UD) portfolio, IT minister K Taraka Rama Rao met Tata group chairman Cyrus Pallonji Mistri and discussed business opportunities for the Tata Group in Telangana.
Rama Rao also met Reliance Group chairman Mukesh Ambani and invited his company to invest in the new state.
A press release issued by Telangana government said the Tata Group offered partnership with the state in the double bedroom house scheme. “Cyrus Mistri told Rama Rao that the Tata Group would take part in the double bed room scheme through Tata Housing Projects,” said the release.
Chief Minister K Chandarsekhar Rao has promised hat his government would build one lakh houses in Hyderabad alone. And Rama Rao has taken the responsibility to fulfill the promise. The release said Mistry had agreed to set up Tata-AIG Technology Development Centre in Hyderabad. The Tata Group would also extend assistance to T Hub innovation fund through Tata capital.
