HYDERABAD: In a bonanza for Telangana government employees, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday issued orders offering them more than 3,500 apartments constructed by Rajiv Swagruha Corporation at Bandlaguda and Pocharam at almost 50 per cent discount.
Against the market rate of 3,500 per square feet, the apartments
built by the corporation will be offered at a price of 1900 per sq feet at Bandlaguda and 1700 per sq feet at Pocharam. The state government employees will have first preference to purchase the flats
on first-come-first-served basis within two months’ time frame. If any flats
remain after the state government employees exercise their option, the same would be offered to central government and other public sector undertakings’ staff.
The Bandlaguda project is located just 2 kms from Nagole X roads, 0.5 kms from Bandlaguda bus depot and 3 kms from the metro railway station. In the Bandlaguda project, 316 finished and 1929 semi-finished flats with all infrastructure are for sale. At Pocharam, 969 finished and 505 semi-finished flats with all facilities are for sale.
The corporation has finalized the average per sq.ft, rate of 2500 for the Bandlaguda project
and 1909 per sq feet for the Pocharam project
. But, when the Telangana Non-Gazetted Officer’s union made a request to the government to allot the residential apartments
to the employees on installment basis, a high power committee chaired by the chief secretary finalised the cost of the fully finished flats
at 1900 per sft. in Bandlaguda and Rs.1700 per sft in Pocharam. The cost of semi-finished flats
is fixed at Rs.200 sft less than that of the finished flats
