GREATER NOIDA: Uttar Pradesh investment commissioner Amit Mohan Prasad on Friday directed YEIDA officials to focus on providing a hassle-free business environment in the area to attract investments. He reviewed the investment climate in the three areas – Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway – during a meeting of senior officials at the YEIDA office.
The meeting comes in the wake of the directions of the newly appointed chairperson of the three Authorities, Pravir Kumar, to revive industrial development to bring investment.
“We have also been directed to woo defence manufacturing units to set up shop in YEIDA area,” said S P Patel, deputy CEO, YEIDA. “The YEIDA area provides the perfect environment to develop a hub for warehousing and logistics. We will also meet and talk to public sector units to set up their manufacturing units here,” he told media.
According to the investment commissioner, YEIDA could also provide existing industries in Noida and Greater Noida extension plans since the land banks in these two areas have more or less been exhausted.
“We have ample land in YEIDA area, which could be gainfully utilised to attract existing entrepreneurs of Noida and Greater Noida to set up their industries. We will seek such proposals,” Patel said.
The investment commissioner plans to hold a meeting every Friday to review the business situation. “On August 22, all the investment proposals we receive will be reviewed and a workshop will be held for entrepreneurs. They will be asked to make a presentation of their plans,” the DCEO said.
